La Isla de Cuba Production in Montréal S.E.N.C. was founded in 2004 by Anays V. Ford who perceived the expansion of the Cuban community in Montréal and the Montréal public's fascination with Cuban culture. On March 30, 2010, the production house became an incorporated, non-profit association of more than 500 people promoting the spread of Cuban culture. This association is named “L’Île de Cuba/La Isla de Cuba “(L.R. Q., chap. C-38, art. 218 Partie III).
Since the beginning of the project, the team has been receiving the collaboration of Alyana André, Leticia Miyares and Anuska Papp, who voluntarily carry out the organization and development of artistic and cultural events that offer traditional and contemporary musical performances offered by local and international artists and groups in Montréal and in other provinces.
La Isla de Cuba is the main organizer of the International Festival Cubaneando and our main objective is to ensure the promotion and dissemination of Cuban culture, as well as providing thousands of people with different languages, origins and culture the space to enjoy the rhythm of Cuban and Latin American music under the same sky.
